Configurable Approval Timeouts

We're excited to announce configurable approval timeouts for approval groups, giving you unprecedented control over your approval workflows. This powerful new feature allows you to customise how long approvers have to respond before an approval automatically times out, with flexible options ranging from 5 minutes to 24 hours.

Previously, all approval requests used a fixed 60-minute timeout window. While this worked well for many scenarios, we heard from customers that different types of operations require different response windows.

With configurable timeouts, you can now tailor your approval windows to match your specific operational requirements:

• Quick response options (5-30 minutes) - Perfect for time-sensitive trading operations, automated workflows, or situations where rapid execution is critical
• Standard windows (1-2 hours) - Ideal for regular operational workflows that balance responsiveness with reasonable review time
• Extended periods (4-24 hours) - Designed for high-value transactions requiring thorough review, cross-timezone coordination, or deliberate decision-making processes

You can configure the timeout when creating a new approval group or update existing groups at any time. Each approval group can have its own timeout setting, allowing you to apply different policies for different types of operations. For example, you might use a 15-minute timeout for API credential approvals but a 12-hour timeout for transfers.

The default timeout remains 1 hour for all existing and new approval groups, ensuring complete backward compatibility with your current workflows.

This enhancement is available immediately for both organisation-level and wallet-level approval groups across all approval types, including addresses, API credentials, policies, transactions, and user management operations.
